in customize, I set layout container 1024 but it is still showing edge to edge page layout.

Have you figured this out?
The container looks correct to me:
[screenshot deleted]the webpage not showing padding on mobile. The content is edge to edge touching mobile sides. This is a wordsmith theme. I’ve not changed anything like CSS. this is by default settings.
plz also delete the screenshot, as it is showing my website logo. thanks.
Looks like this option is activated which is removing the default theme padding in the customizer:
