Warnings from Google Search Console on Mobile Usability
4 replies · Started by Tom on July 22, 2019
Hi,
I put my new GeneratePress live yesterday and woke up this morning to a set of Google Search Console Warnings affecting multiple pages.
Page is not mobile friendly:
1) Viewport not set
2) Text too small to read
3) Clickable elements too close together
4) Content wider than screen
I had noticed yesterday on my mobile that there is padding on the left of the blog posts but no visible padding on the right, and that I had to scroll left and right on some of the entries to read them.
I have barely changed anything from the default GP settings, so would really appreciate a few pointers as to how to fix this.
Thank you,
Tom
PS. This may be related to my other issue here which I haven't managed to reply to yet: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/my-author-page-is-aligned-left-and-the-rest-of-the-website-is-aligned-centrally/#post-963454
And here is the link Google provides for some insight into those errors above: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9063469#viewport_not_configured
Hi there,
I really wouldn't worry about those Google warnings.
David provided some explanations here:

I had noticed yesterday on my mobile that there is padding on the left of the blog posts but no visible padding on the right, and that I had to scroll left and right on some of the entries to read them.
I checked the first few posts on mobile but didn't see the issue. Is there a specific post I should be looking at?
Let me know :)
It seems to have fixed itself now Leo thanks, and sorry for bothering you with this.
No problem at all :)
