Ciao Ermanno, non ho usato alcun plug-in, ho solo modificato il css. Considera che ogni widget ha un ID proprio e ovviamente il DIV può essere modificato graficamente. Tanto per fare un esempio, il box "pubblicità" ha per ID "extended-featured-widget-2". Dunque

#extended-featured-widget-2 {
border: 2px dashed #291E1C; /* bordo tratteggiato spesso 2 pixel */
}

Io ho applicato la stessa sintassi a tutti i widget e il risultato è quello che vedi.

@Ermanno: grazie! Occhio, ho cambiato plugin per quei "Featured category post" perché dava problemi di visualizzazione. Usa Category posts widget (https://wordpress.org/plugins/category-posts/), è eccellente.
