Volume theme - featured image

Is it possible to set the Volume theme to have a featured post? Some articles are more in depth and I'd like to keep those at the top even as newer posts are published.
I saw a couple of topics that hinted around the issue, but I'm still unsure.

If you only need one post to be the featured post, you can set this post to be sticky:
