Hello,
How do I make the category description visible on my blog pages?
I was testing on this page and couldn't get the description to show.

THank you Janet
Hi there,
you have a header element enabled on your Archives - is there any reason for this ? if you disable that you should see the default Title and Description.
Hi Dave,
No idea why there is a header element enabled in archives. I went to customize - blog - archive. I do not see where there is a header element to disable.
Please tell me where to find this in order to disable.
THank you
Check in Dashboard > Appearance > Elements - there you should see a list of Elements - look for the Header Element that has a Display Rule location of Archives.
I didn't find anything in the elements with a display rule of archives.
Anything elements that are assigned to the entire site?
You can upload a screenshot showing the elements page if you need:

I have no elements that have enabled elements in archives.
All the elements are ones that came from GP child theme.
I've deleted or put some into draft but that is about it.
Thank you
I had to turn off all elements in order to get the description to show.
Am I not allowed to use the elements if I want to use the Description information.
If I am what am I suppose to have for settings.
Thank you
So the issue is resolved?
I can see the category description on the page you've linked:

Not exactly,
Now I can’t use the elements for page heros etc. And I’ve had to disable everything that came with the child theme.
How do I have the description area and also use teh elements that came with the child theme?
If you want to add category description in the page hero then you will need to create a shortcode for it:

I think the best solution is to create a page hero specific to the category archives and include the shortcode in there.
No, I’m not trying to add a category description to the page hero. I am trying to use the page hero and have the category description show like it does with the page heros turned off.
Nevermind I figured out a go around.
Glad to hear :)
