[Resolved] Video Post Format and Excerpts

Using the “Blog” add-on I’m showing only the excerpts for the main blog page.

If no Post Format is set, a post which begins with a video URL won’t display the video but just the text beneath it, following the word count rule you can set within the aforementioned add-on (55 words default).

Instead, if I set the Video Post Format, it display the video as expected, but, it also displays the full text. (I think this post explains this behavior, right?)

What if I need to write a lot about a video and need a read more link?
Is it possible to display the video and an excerpt automatically?

BTW, if you use the read more button in the editor

Yea, at this time you would have to use the more tag to set the cut off after the video.

In future versions, I’ll be tweaking the post formats a bit so it only grabs the video, gallery etc.. 🙂
