verify homepage by adding meta tag code

Hi,
im trying to add a affilate verification code, and I'm sure I'm doing it correctly, but I don't see it in the source code so I think I need a little help :)
I'm trying to add this code to the homepage:
as per the instructions..
Copy the meta tag and paste it under the <HEAD> tag of the code of your sites homepage.

I've added it to:Appearance>Elelents>Hook>wp_head
Display rules>Location: Front page
im going to my homepage and checking the source code but i dont see anything there. i've purged my cache just to make sure but still nothing?
So is the way i have added it correct?
if it is right then i must have something else blocking it but wanted to start here first

that is the correct way to do it.
Troubleshoot by hooking something else into WP_Head to see if it appears.
