Hi Tom,

I am having issues getting my site verified (google webmaster) and I wondered if it was a theme issue.

So far I have tried via entering the code via:

Wordpress / jetpack tools.
Plugin / Joast tools.
GP hooks wp_head.

Any solutions?

Hi Ben,

Wouldn't be a theme issue - Google Webmasters just want to see a meta tag in your code somewhere.

It may take half an hour or so for them to pick up your website - did you stick with one method? Have you been verified yet?

Hi Tom,

No luck, I've left it 48 hours or so..

If I was to put it into the code should I use CSS editor, child CSS or GP hooks?

Which is the best method?

Other than that I will probably try and upload the code via FTP.

UPDATE: I've actually just used the 'insert headers and footers' plugin and its worked.

Just for other peoples reference, it was pretty much instantaneous.
