In Tom's announcement of May 2, he indicates that GP 2.1 and onward no longer natively supports Font Awesome and that we should instead use the new icons that have been specifically designed for GP. Okay. He even showed us some examples of what they look like. However, I've searched high and low in the GP docs and here on the GP forum for any mention of these new icons; what the rest of them look like; how to use them; etc. and come up totally empty. The website of The Dickiebirds Studio (authors of the icons) also is a dead end. Please provide the required resources to us so that we can actually use these new icons!

Hi there,

The icons in GP aren't meant for general use within your content - they're theme icons for built in elements (menu bars, close icons, search etc..).

If you need icons for your content, I suggest adding Font Awesome using a plugin or function: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/font-awesome/

For consistency, I want to use the same icon-arrow-up as GP uses in other elements. How can I either use what GP comes with, or else replace the one GP uses?

Hi Greg,

This is the arrow up SVG used in GP if you want to use them in your content:
