using hook for ad placement

i am trying to place banner ads on my site using hooks but i really dont understand the placement aspect, i want to place some banner below the featured image in the post and within the post content itself

Hooks only exist within the Theme templates ( and core code ), so you wont find them within the Post Content. If you want to automate the placement of adverts within post content for example after the 2nd Paragraph, or within the post loop then we recommend this plugin:
