Thank you in advance for your help.
I created a landing page, form fill and thank you page and a draft about us page as the home page using the Generate Press Child theme on a network of sites, where
A subdomain was created for a Learndash site with a BuddyBoss plugin and theme to allow for an online community with an intuitive interface for the user.

I was having a few issues since installing the BuddyBoss plugin but that was resolved for the most part by removing it, changing the permalink settings of both the main site and the learning management site to “posts” and then reinstalling the BuddyBoss plugins, although I noticed that on some occasions the “view” page of the landing page, thank you or form page would redirect to the homepage rather than the landing page, but the links would work on the actual page when I got testers to check if the landing page and the rest of it was working, and am still waiting for the BuddyBoss support to get back to me on this issue.

Unfortunately, I accidentally activated the main GP theme when I noticed an update for GP and now the landing page, form fill and thank you pages do not work properly, having login and register icons in the top left of the pages.

I ‘ve been struggling to fix these issues for over a week so I’d be most grateful for your help.

    Thank you again, Leanne

    Hi there,

Not sure if I fully understand the issues here – sounds like the issue is related to BuddyPress rather than GeneratePress and GP Premium?

GP wouldn’t be able to cause issues within BuddyPress.

Maybe you can try activating the child theme again?

    Hi Leo
There is a portion that is definitely due to the Buddy Boss plugin, which is why I was seeking them for assistance as well, but the pages were actually working before I activated the GeneratePress theme.
I have already tried activating the GeneratePress Child Theme but it still isn’t working.
Would appreciate any other suggestions! thank you.

    Hi there,

can you share the URL to the site ?

Thanks for getting back to me David. the landing page is https://younginmotion.com/sore-knees-with-stairs/. (unfortunately it has the login message in top L and if I actually log in, I go to the home page and not the landing page)

    The form fill page is;https://younginmotion.com/sore-knees-with-stairs-form-done-with-richard/

The thank you page is: https://younginmotion.com/sore-knees-with-stairs-thank-you/

Thank you in advance for your help

So the Admin Bar – login and register options, that is a setting in BuddyBoss > Settings –> General Settings —> Toolbar. Where there are several options to hide the Admin ( toolbar ).

The landing page, when logged in, has a 302 ( temporary ) redirect on it, which is sending it to the home page.

Do you have any redirection plugins or code or changes to htaccess on the site?

One other issue, i see an error in the Browser developers console on the front end. Its the Facebook pixel code:

    Hi David

Thank you for looking into this

To the best of my knowledge, I don’t have any redirection plugins or code or changes to htaccess on the site.

I’m not technical, so I don’t understand the implications of the pixel code error- what can I do to fix this? As I’ve provided some temp login credentials, I’m happy for you to go into the back end as necessary

Thank you for looking into this to troubleshoot the problem,

    Leanne

If you go back to FB and get your pixel code, check to make sure the code you have on your site matches that on FB.

For reference, the error relates to this line:

    n.cal(Method.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push (arguments)};

It doesn’t think the : colon should be there.

Thanks for this David – I took out the colon from the GTM container with the FB standard pixel implementation tag after checking that I had the correct FB pixel code (line 5 of FB Standard Pixel Implementation tag) which had the line of code you have in red, but got this message:
    JavaScript compiler error
FB – Pixel – Standard Implementation
Error at line 5, character 35: Parse error. ‘:’ expected

I think I may have misunderstood your description of the change I need to make.

Also, I’m also wondering how I change the redirect issue as I don’t know why the landing page etc is redirecting, and also don’t understand why the page is asking the user to log in.

Thank you in advance for your help

Can you recreate your pixel code, and replace it on your site.. as your code seems to be missing some lines – this document shows an example of the pixel code:

    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/meta-pixel/get-started

And your code is not the same.

The 302 redirect – i checked the response header for that request and it just says: x-redirect-by: WordPress
Which would mean a plugin or another function is redirect.

Try disabling plugins to see if any of them are causing that. Be sure to clear any server / browser caches between checks

    Hi David
Thank you for getting back to me on this.
The plugin for BuddyBoss had previously fixed the problem, but since I had accidentally activated the Generate Press theme over the Generate Press Child theme instead of just updating it, it does not fix the altered pages and now requests a login.

Do you have suggestions on how I can overcome this? I don’t know how to revert updated themes and plugins.

I will check the FB pixel code this weekend –

thank you again for your advice, and please let me know how I might overcome the plugin issues since the GP activation over the GP Child theme

Have you spoken to BuddyBoss ?
As there is nothing in the theme that would interfere with permalinks and we don’t write redirects.
I checked the site again to make sure there was nothing odd with either the GP or GP Child theme. I could see no issues.
I also notice the Theme had been swapped to BuddyBoss and from what i could see, the same issue persists.

If BuddyBoss could provide some input then we may be able to help further.

    Hi David
So kind of you to answer me on your weekend – thank you!
Yes, I have been back and forth to Buddy Boss, and they are still investigating the issues and I really appreciate you checking the site again.
I will contact you with the response from the Buddy Boss support team as soon as I receive further feedback from them – I have given them access to the backend of the website also, so hopefully we will be able to sort it out soon.

    Thanks again,
    Leanne
