[Support request] Using GeneratePress Premium & Elementor Pro – Selective Page Building?

Hi there,

We use Elementor Pro with GeneratePress Premium.

Until now, we’ve used Elementor to create every page on our website (both posts and pages).

For performance reasons, we’d like to experiment with creating posts purely with GeneratePress (adding blocks and entering the content straight into the CMS) rather than editing the page with Elementor and adding blocks that way. However, the option to ‘add a block’ in the usual WordPress editor is grayed out.

Is it possible to not use Elementor to edit a new page once Elementor is installed? Or do we have to somehow uninstall Elementor and migrate all of the content in order to use GeneratePress + WordPress alone?

Hi there,

there should be no issue you creating a new post and choosing to use the default WordPress editor.
But you may find that an post already made with Elementor cannot be edited in the core editor without uninstalling elementor first. You may want to check with elementor support regarding that. But the Theme doesn’t interfere in any way.
