Uploading site logo creates proliferation of cropped files

Sounds good - hopefully they've seen the issue before and have a solution for you.

According to the WP developer who replied to me a few minutes ago, this is an expected behavior.

I'm not sure there's much the theme could do in this regard when it comes to creating files. We're not allowing to prevent default WordPress behavior on WordPress.org, and I'm not sure I'd overly want to, as when you start doing that, bugs can happen.

Ah, well, at least there's an explanation! I'll just deal with it.

I'm guessing you're wa-a-a-a-y more likely to get TPTB to pay attention if you rap their knuckles and say, "Hey, this is messy!" than if I try to do the same. ;-)

That is, if you agree that it's messy!
