upgrade GP Premium from 1.2.79 to 1.12.3

Are there any precautions I should take (other than backup) before upgrading from 1.2.79 to 1.12.3? Took over my site from a developer and found that we're running a very old version of GP Premium. Just purchased the upgrade and I'm a little leery of making such a huge jump in versions... TIA

Hi there,
backup should be fine - although its quite a big jump the theme will handle most legacy states so as not to break anything the old set up was using.
Thank you - taking a backup now and will upgrade after. Will keep you posted on progress and close this if successful.
