Hi there,

When I put my licence code into the box and click submit I get the following message:

cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

I have contacted my host - hawkhost and asked them the following :

Hi there,

When trying to put my licence code for my site's theme and addons into my website I get the following error :

cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds

On reviewing the support docs i found the following :

https://docs.generatepress.com/article/license-key-activation-issues/

It states the following :

_So you’ve installed GP Premium, and now you’re trying to activate your license so you can receive automatic updates.

You add your license key to the field, and click the “Update” button, but your license key doesn’t activate.

If you don’t get a specific error, this can happen when your hosting isn’t allowing external communication with other web servers.

To fix this issue, please contact your host and ask them to allow your WordPress installation to communicate with https://generatepress.com using the wp_remote_post function.

They may have to turn PHP cURL on._

Would you be able to see if this can be done please?

Thanks,

Tommy

To which they replied :

Hello,
PHP curl is already enabled in the server. Can you please have a try now and see if you are facing any issues. If the issue persists, please provide us the exact steps to replicate this issue so that we can take a look.

I have tried again and it still is giving the same error.

Would you happen to have any other suggestions I can try?

Thanks.

Tommy.

Just further to this I have received the following reply from my host...

Hello,
All of the servers outbound connections are going from the IP 172.96.184.6. Can you please contact GeneratePress support and make sure this IP is whitelisted at their end? Also, let us know if there is any IP needs to be whitelisted at our end.
Awaiting your response.

Is there a specific IP address I should inform them of?

Thanks.

Tommy.

Hi there,

Looks like that IP was blocked due to wp-login spam a long time ago. It should be good to go now.

Let us know :)

Yep that seems to have to worked.

Thanks for your help.

Tommy.

Marked as resolved.

Awesome, glad we could get it working :)
