Update to GP Premium 1.6 fails on Windows Server (Could not create directory)

Error:
Update Failed: Could not create directory. gp-premium/library/image-processing-queue/includes
A quick search shows that it could be related to long directory name, but the related posts and solutions were quite old. Is it possible for the developer to fix this on the backend so the update can go through? I do not have any issues updating any other plugin, no folder permission problems etc.
