unwanted margin above navigation only on Chrome

For some reason the navigation is displaying as if there is almost 200px of top-margin but only in Chrome....it appears normal on Firefox.
I can't figure out what setting is making it behave this way.

I see. To clarify, is your site still using floats? If so, you can switch float to flexbox: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/switching-from-floats-to-flexbox/
This can be done through Appearance > Customize > General, and this is already the default setting.
