Unable to update GP Premium

Hi,
I've not been able to update GP Premium. I've written to the host regarding: allowing the WordPress installation to communicate with https://generatepress.com using the wp_remote_post function but I've not heard back.
To update manually, I deactivate the GP Premium plugin and then reinstall it with the downloaded update? I wanted to make sure that was correct?

Hi Mary,
To manually update, you just need to upload the downloaded new version at Dashboard > plugins.
You don't have to deactivate the old one since WP can read version numbers nowadays.
