Unable to remove widgets

do you have any widgets added to the right sidebar ?

Hi David,

I have widgets in the right sidebar but not the archives widget. If you check the page (link given above), you will see that there is a search widget and an archives widget that list posts by years.

I have not set it and I am not able to remove it. How do I remove it?

Ohhh Thank you for the tip about the renewal. I will do it. Just wondering if I (existing user) renew using someone else's affiliate link, will that person be credited for the renewal?

I am asking because I run a FB group and would like any one of the members to benefit from my purchase. :)

Odd - what happens if you add the archive widget publish the changes and then remove the widget?

No.. it doesn't work. Is it possible to check what element is causing this? Let me share the URL again. Please check this. I am also very confused after I randomly found it. It's been from who knows when.

Where else on your site do you have the Right sidebar being displayed ?

Try clearing any Page Caches you have - whether they be Plugin/Server/CDN.

Do you have any of the following:

a) Child theme functions
b) GP Hook elements
c) plugins that deal with Widgets

Yes I have all of them David.

But, I checked the elements and I don't think any of those is responsible for the sidebar widgets (they are mostly for hero title or adding some code).

I have a Q2W3 plugin, but that only works when a widget is in place (keeps it fix and unscrollable).

Remaining, I had asked my developer to create a child theme. I am not sure about its functionality and if that can cause. Can you please share some ideas on how to proceed with checking or something?

Whats in the child theme eg.

Are then any templates eg. single.php ?
Or are there any functions in the functions.php ?

Can you ask your developer what they added ?

Hi David,

I asked him and he said he hasn't added anything such. So, I created a staging site and switched theme to the default 2021 theme & found no widgets in there. After that I reverted back to GP and this time I found 3 other widgets in place of the archives widget (I have shared the link below).

So, I am not sure why this is happening. Does this give you some idea on what could be causing it?
