After trying to edit functions.php I get an error “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.” I deactivated and reactivated plugins to see if there was a problem, but plugins are fine. SiteGround told me no server-side issues. I’m able to edit functions.php via FTP but not from Appearance > Theme Editor > functions. Any ideas?

    Hi there,

are you using any cache/optimization plugins eg. SG Optimizer ?
Try disabling them before making those edits.

I had this on my staging site. Mine was due to root ownership in the themes folder in wp-content directory.

Thanks, Ash. How did you resolve the problem? Change permissions?

Yes, Just ask SiteGround to check permissions for you.
