Unable to add Google Analytics code to Header Manually or via a Plugin.

While adding the GA code via the theme editor, its giving me the error - "Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over FTP".
I tried using a plugin to add the code and it gives me a "500 internal server error".
Please help.
Hi there,
This isn't something the theme controls. GA code connects to Google servers. Your site's hosting may be preventing this.
I recommend contacting your site's host about it.
