Unable to add dynamic content to blog post layout

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by 'custom excerpt'? All my posts should be reflecting the Blog Layout content template but now the only one that is is the one I posted earlier today, and all the others are now showing multiple 'dynamic entry excerpts' (I think as a result of me attempting to add it back in) however I can't see any of the dynamic entry excerpts on the Blog Layout page!!! Help!!!!

A custom excerpt is what you added to the Excerptfield in the post editor:

Can you check have you added custom excerpt for your other posts? As when I check, the excerpt in blog page doesn't match the post content in the single post page.

I'm not using the excerpt field in the post editor, my excerpts should all be coming from the GP dynamic content in the Blog Layout!

I'm going to delete the containers in the Blog Layout page to rebuild it, as that is where i think the problems are coming from.

1. If you have a container wrapping all your post content, the excerpt won't display, that's something WP need to fix.

2. As a workaround, if you use custom excerpt field in each post's post editor, the custom excerpt will show. As you can see, the excerpt of this post on blog page doesn't match the text content of the single post:

If you are not using the WP built-in custom excerpt field, are you using any plugin to do that?

If you are not sure, you can provide admin access using the private info field, I can take a look for you.

Thanks, I've added the custom excerpt field for the first two posts but then the 'read more...' link doesn't appear, which it does in the other posts? So the dynamic excerpts seem to be working in some posts but not all ?!!

This is the best I think I can do, can you tell me please is there a way to get the read more link to appear when I use the custom excerpt field?

I'm not using a plugin for the other posts excerpts, the dynamic excerpts from my Blog Layout page seem to work even though they are within a container...

When I took the screenshot, the article When is your ‘Tax Freedom Day’? did generate an excerpt with the text The value of pensions and the income they produce can fall as well as rise, you may get back less than you invested.

Because this is the only text that is not in a container in the entire post.

All the other posts are in the same case.

So you were right, you are not using custom excerpt field, the excerpt is generated automatically.

The reason that your latest post doesn't have excerpt is there's NO text out of a container.

I would suggest, remove the container which is wrapping the first paragraph.
