Unable to add background picture

Setting background pictures no longer work for me since the most recent update of WP (4.6) and GeneratePress (1.3.39).
The Upload button has stopped working and as such I'm unable to change or set a new background image.
Web debugging tool gives following error message when I open up the editor:
