Turning off post featured images turns off on pages!

Hi! I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm doing some really silly.
I've got a slightly strange situation where I want to display featured images on pages but not on posts (archives or singles).
However, to get featured images to be displayed on pages, the box has to be ticked for them to be displayed on single posts! If single posts is unticked (no matter the state of the pages tick box) there are no featured images on pages...
With single posts turned on, the pages on and off works, but single posts still needs to be ticked and seems to have overall control of pages.
Any ideas?!

Yes, that's the one. No FI on pages if 'display featured images' on 'posts' isn't ticked!

That's on a page on my test site at: https://junk.asra.co.uk/lorem-ipsum/ (a very simple WP install with GP/premium and not much else - it's all dummy content!!!)
