Trouble Editing Titles as Authors with Wordpress 6.0
5 replies · Started by catbiscuits on June 7, 2022
Hi, I am having a problem with GeneratePress on Wordpress 6.0. On my test site ALL plugins are deactivated. Generatepress is running solely as a theme.
If I am logged in as site admin, all is fine. If I am logged in as an author, however, if I create a post (or any other content-type), if I do NOT type in the title immediately but rather start with a description, I am unable to edit the title afterwards (it remains "add title"). If I do create a title (say, "Foobar"), I can subsequently go write my description and then edit the title. I am in the process of testing this with a clean install in which nothing but the generatepress theme has ever been installed.
I think that this problem does not take place in Safari, although it does in Chrome and Firefox (on the Mac... I have also tried it on Chrome on the PC and the same problem is happening).
Any thoughts?
Hi Catbiscuits,
In Appearance > Customize > Typography, in Typography manager, you have a Heading 1 without a Font Family set. Can you try setting a font family for that and an appropriate Font size?
Kindly let us know how it goes.
I tried. It didn't seem to work. I still can't edit the heading

Hi there,
see here:

The Single Content Title H1 has a Line Height of 0 EM.
Change this to a value eg. 1.2EM.
You guys are the best. I think that solved the problem!!!!
I am thoroughly impressed by your responsiveness and knowledge of the product.
Glad we can be of help :)
