Trim Excerpt

Hey I've just found Generate Press and I'm loving it so far.

My only hiccup is regarding the excerpt length. I'm not able to trim it down via:

customize > layout > blog > excerpt word count

Any suggestions?

Also, is there a shortcode to display the standard GP blog?

Are you using the excerpt metabox for custom expert? If so see Tom's explanation here:

As for shortcode to display blog, the easiest way to use Tom's WP Show Posts plugin:
