'Excerpt word count' does not work

Dear support
I want to control the excerpt word count in my blog page but GP ignores the value I enter.
For example, I enter '15' but I still seeing posts with excerpts longer than that.
Worth mention. I've disabled all plugins (except 'GP Premium) but this issue still remains.
Please, take a look about what I am talking about.
Could you see what I am doing wrong?

Yes, in some posts. That so was generated by FakerPress plugin that also could have been done by an user no doubt.
Yeah if you are using the excerpt field then the full excerpt will show.
So, 'Excerpt word count' field does not work in excerpts, only in 'body' content. Is that right?
Is there another solution to control this?

The excerpt count will only apply to excerpts that are automatically generated from your content.
If you're adding the excerpt manually, the entire excerpt will display.
I'm not sure if it's possible to limit it automatically. WP assumes since you manually entered it, you want the entire thing to display.
