How about to add the ability to customize the transparency of colors in Colors Addon?
If you remove the color completely - the color will be transparent :)

and how to make a semi-transparent color? I have to do a translucent image and set it as a background?
I would create a 2 x 2 pixel PNG with a semi transparent background and upload it as the background image :)
