    Hey,

I am hoping to achieve this kind of navigation with a normal top nav bar as well as a off-canvas option.

I’d initially thought to create a button with a custom html widget in the header but I’m feeling like there must be a better method of doing it if I can use the nav bar as a header and then still get the additional button in there some how?

    Screenshot here

    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

you can enable Off Canvas for Desktop:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/off-canvas-panel-overview/

And then we can talk about what happens with mobile.

Let me know if i have misunderstood.

    Hi David,

I’ve enabled off-canvas and assigned it some menu items but the toggle does not show up anywhere?

Where should it show by default?

I’ve got my navigation set as my site header if that’s worth noting…

    Many thanks.

Did you set it to Display as ON or Desktop Only?

If still an issue can you share a link to your site – edit your original topic and use the Site URL field to share privately.

    Hi David,

Yes I did set it to ‘on’ rather than Desktop Only, although I have tried both settings and the toggle doesn’t appear on either.

Unfortunately the site is a local build so I can’t share the link with you at the moment.

Do you have a Menu assigned to the Primary Navigation ?
If you only want the to show the toggle then create a blank menu – ie. no menu items. Set its location to Primary and save it.

    let me know.

    Ahh that’s it!
I hadn’t actually assigned a menu to the primary nav area but it was adding top level pages automatically so I didn’t think I needed to.

All sorted though now – Thanks Dave 🙂
