Just about to purchase Thrive Architect, but not sure if it will work with the best theme in the world (Generate Press)

It should. However Beaver Builder and Elementor are the more popular page builders right now and more people choose those to work with GP.

I'm using Thrive Architect with Generatepress all the time. Works perfectly. Just make sure that you disable 'Sections' when redoing old articles.
