Third times a charm! Initial guidance for D&D/RPG site

This will be the last Wordpress theme I buy! Let there be no more wasted money. :)
I run paid dungeons and dragons games and am looking to set up a website that looks cool but is not all sparks and bloat (like a previous theme...).
I like the following websites: https://davisashura.com/ and https://rickriordan.com/
Is there something from the Site Library I should start with? What modules should be activated? For the more advanced stuff I should learn CSS and use the Elements module?
Just looking to be pointed in the right direction so I can start messing around with the right stuff.

so Site Library Sites are a great foundation to get you started, but if you're new to GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks then it may take a while to find your footing.
Of the sites i would suggest maybe checkout Construction or Driver as they have quite a lot of varied layouts that kinda match those sites, use them to have a poke around and get a feel for GP and GB they don't need to be the one you finally opt for just sandbox with them and see what happens.
Those sites will auto enable only the modules they use, so checkout what they add to get an idea of what you need.
After installing a site i would check out the: Customizer > Colors and Customizer > Typography settings. Here you can update the brand and watch those changes flow through the site.
When you start editing pages you will see that 90 - 100% of it is built using GenerateBlocks.
Those blocks will inherit the Colors and Typography settings from the Customizer. Although you can edit colors and add fonts using GB, do so sparingly, as no one likes to edit 100's of individual blocks on 100s of pages if in the future you want to change fonts or colors.
Instead add extra Colors to the Global Colors in Customizer > Colors or add new Typography rules to the Customizer > Typography. Then you can use them where you need and update them globally from one place.
GP Elements is an awesome feature for creating dynamic or static content that needs to be either displayed across many pages or posts, or inserted into areas that you cannot directly edit eg. the Category Archive Pages. Most of the sites use them, and when viewing a page, logged in, you can see which ones are being applied to THAT page from the Admin Bar > Elements Menu.
