Theme to replace WP Show Posts?

Hi,
We've been using GeneratePress/WP Show Posts/Dispatch theme for some time (with a number of revisions), but are now getting ready to move to GenerateBlocks/Query Loop to replace WP Show Posts. We're looking for a theme to start with, in a Magazine style, that will work well with the replacement for WP Show Posts. Is there a way to filter on themes that are ready for Query Loops? Does it matter which one we choose?
Appreciate any help you can provide, we're just getting started, but hoping that a new theme will get us kick-started

Hi Kip,

Unfortunately we don't have a magazine-specific template with Query Loop implemented.

I believe our designers are working on some though.

Stay tuned :)

Thanks,
I've chosen a theme from the Site Library (Marketer), just to get a feel for the Generate Blocks Query Loop, but the theme requires WP Show Posts. What themes can I use to get started with the Query Loop (and how do I find them?)

Not sure if I fully understand. The Marketer template doesn't use WP Show Posts or Query Loop.

Not sure if I understand the question. You don't need to import a template to try query loop block - you can create a test page in your existing site and test it there.

I currently have the (unmodified) GeneratePress theme activated, and I'm getting a message in the WP back end that "This theme requires the following plugin: WP Show Posts" This was present in Marketer as well.
I deleted the WP Show Posts plugin as I want to move on to Generate Blocks / Query Loop. Do I need to have it installed even though I won't be using it?

That doesn't sound right - we've never heard this issue before.

Can you provide the login info for us to take a look?

You can use the private info field.

This is a staging/test site, I previously had WP Show Posts installed and a child theme to GeneratePress installed - I have deleted WP Show Posts, and all Elements that it was using. I also cleared the Customizer. I can't find any calls to WP Show Posts (shortcodes etc) although it's possible one / some still exist, perhaps in the database (??).
One of my goals is to move off of WP Show Posts completely, and stuff like this error message on my site drives me nuts, even though it probably doesn't make much difference. I'm aiming for a clean new site ;)

What if you disable WP Show Posts Pro which is currently activated?

I thought that would do it but nope, it's still there (if you X out of it, it shows back up in the next refresh). I think it's possibly a WP bug, I've seen reports of it showing up with other themes/plugins, too.

I just logged in and refresh a few times and no longer seeing that message?

Ok I did at first but glad it's gone now
you can close this ticket thanks

Sounds good.
