Theme is "broken"

Downloaded Generatepress, extracted the zip file to a folder, which I uploaded to my server. Activated the theme trough WP-dashboard and the blog became blank, seen in the browser. WP says the theme is broken and reactivates standard theme.
What do I do to get the theme up and running?

Easiest way would be to go to "Appearance > Themes" in your Dashboard and search for GeneratePress. Then you can install with one click from there.

It worked like a charm, installing from the dashboard. Yeah, I'm this old school kind of guy who tried to upload the theme via FTP :)
Now it's time to play with the addons.
