[Support request] Theme Changes

Hi gang:

I am seeing topics on this but want to be sure I have processed things correctly.

Currently, I am making edits to the Child Theme for READ template. I am re-doing my navigation structure based on some topical authority studies and want to migrate to a theme you’ve created called INFO. Unless I have missed it, do you have themes that emulate a MEGA-MENU and/or hub pages like Brian Dean’s site? https://backlinko.com/hub/seo. I ‘think’ INFO is good.

I have all MY WP content backedup with each article update using Updraft Plus.

What do I need to do to move to INFO (or your recommended layout of prepared templates per hub/mega-menu) with my current READ child theme. Any precautions helpful and sorry if this may duplicate some of materials but it includes my ask on the above scenarios so wanted some help. Tech overload with themes, plugins, tools and ezoic.

Hi there,

1. We don’t have sites that have the mega menu, unfortunately.

2. Go to appearance > GeneatePress > open site library, do you see the option that Remove the current template?
If so, you can go ahead and remove the current template, then you can start to import the new template.

So I just remove that and install the new phone. What happens to the child theme for READ template? Do I create a new child theme ?

Do you add PHP code to your child’s theme’s functions.php file? Do you modify the theme templates?

If not, a child theme is not needed.
