Temporarily disabling an Element?

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a feature to temporarily disable an Element, like for instance a Hook?

I know I can change the display rules but if I have specified a lot of display rules and I only want to disable the element for debugging, then removing them and then adding them back again after is not very efficient.

So I was just wondering if there is a disable functionality that I may have overlooked?
