Targeting just Menu Link Title and not Description

Hi there guys. Just need to know before I go ahead and tackle this (by manually adding the span and class around each menu item under Appearances -> Menu - please refer to screengrab for reference) if there is a way or a filter in GP that would allow me to add a span with a class around the Menu Item Text (Title). My client's latest design is calling for the Menu Item to have text-decoration: underline on the Menu Text on :hover, but unfortunately since the Description is also encased in the <a> tag, that is also displaying underline on :hover. So I need to be able to target just the text with an encasing <span> tag. Thanks.
