I'm a premium member and use Wealthy Affiliate platform, first, I installed GeneratePress free version and then upgraded to Premium, and selected a child theme called Marketer later. I ran into many problems, roughly as follolws:
1. Why my tagline does not appear?
2. Why the header is different when I click my site title from which appeared in the homepage?
3. Why I cannot remove widget' blocks, and why it always alerts error or invalid parameters when I update upon removal?
Regards and thanks

Hi there,

For #1, can you go to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity and make sure Hide site tagline is NOT checked?

For #2: I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Can you link us to the pages where they differ?

For #3: This is not controlled by the theme. This is part of WordPress' Core functions.

But perhaps we can help you out with it, can you provide us any recordings of its occurrence or screenshots of the error?

1. the first problems seem to be solved, would you please check it?
for 2 & 3, I have screeshots, but how to upolad here?

I see the main title but I don't see the tagline.

I've checked the page source of your site and It's not there as well so it probably was set to "Hide site tagline" or the tagline text field is empty/filtered.

for 2 & 3, I have screeshots, but how to upolad here?

See our recommendation for uploading screenshots on the forums here - https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

thanks

I sent you my links with private information, can you see them?
Would you please update me?
thanks

While debugging, can you disable ALL plugins except GP Premium? To make sure it's not a plugin conflict.

Also make sure to clear/disable all forms of cache (CDN, server, etc).

Disables these first and then check again, if it still occurs after disabling everything, consider these:

As for 1 and 2,

Do you have any filters used on your site? Or perhaps a child theme? Or maybe a translation plugin?

As for #3:

You can't remove "Inactive widgets" area.

But removing widgets on the inactive widget area should be as easy as this - https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4ujAkx5

But I assume you're getting an error when you try to remove block? can you provide an error of what you're seeing when you try to remove it?

Thanks
As for 1 and 2, I do have a child theme selected from your library when I upgraded to your Premium.
Would you please tell me how clear cache.
Or, would you please check my website with the credentials I sent to you?

As for 3, would you pleae see screeshot i sent you, which indicated the "error information" when I remove a block and updated it. That's to say, I can remove blocks, but always alerts error and invalid parameters when I updated the changes, finally, they cannot be removed. That's all.

By the way, I have not use translation plugin, this is a bilingual site, I'm a translator. But, in the future, I would use translation plugin to reach more audience.

Would you please tell me how clear cache.

There are different kinds of cache.

You can skip clearing CDN and plugin cache as your site doesn't seem to be using one.

As for server sided cache, that setting is usually accessed on the backend/CPanel settings of your hosting. If you're unsure if your host has one, you can ask them for it. :)

As for 3, would you pleae see screeshot i sent you, which indicated the “error information” when I remove a block and updated it. That’s to say, I can remove blocks, but always alerts error and invalid parameters when I updated the changes, finally, they cannot be removed. That’s all.

Have you tried removing the blocks w/ ALL plugins except GP Premium disabled?

The invalid parameters usually come from plugins that are not updated for WordPress 5.8.

WordPress 5.8 did a major change on how widgets work. Some plugins don't have an update for this change.

That said, that's why we ask to disable ALL plugins except GP Premium to at least avoid or identify plugin conflict/s.

I do remove wigets as your instructions, but cannot be updated and always alerts the erro information i sent to you when I click update button.

thanks,
let me try once again
one more questions
What's the difderence between your main theme, i.e. GeneratePress, and its child themes?
In which cases, I should select a child theme?

Hi there,

for the widget issue, try adding the PHP Snippet provided here:

https://docs.generatepress.com/article/disable-the-block-editor-in-widgets/

This will return the Widgets to the classic version. With that added try editing your widgets again.

RE: Themes.

First off when you import a Site from our Site Library - it is NOT a Child Theme. Its simply a site import, the same as if you created a new wordpress site and wanted to duplicate it and install on another domain.

The Child Theme we provided in our documents are Empty - on install they do nothing. Their purpose is to allow you to add code functions.php, create a new stylesheet or add your own PHP Templates.

Alas, I upload your site Marketer as a plugin when I upgraded to your Premium, is it right? if not, what I should do now?
I first installed your free GeneratePress version, then upgraded to Premium, and then install a site from your site library.
Thanks

GeneratePress is your theme, where is your child theme, which really confused me?
What's the relationship between them?
