Tag Manager Changes Phone Number

Hi team,
I am not sure why, but all of a sudden, then phone number on my website is magically changing to the wrong phone number.
I have isolated the issue down to the Google Tag Manager code, I have in the Insert Headers and Footer Plugin. If I remover the Tag Manager code, the website presents the correct phone number. If I add the Google Tag Manager code, an old phone number we no longer use is presented.
Furthermore, the phone number is changes everywhere it appears on the website. Links, Menu's even plain text.
Obviously the phone number is correct everywhere in the backend it should be.
When I first load a page, the presents correctly for a split second, but is quickly replaced for the wrong phone number?
I tried removing all plugins and the issue persists unless I remove the Google Tag Manager Code?

Google Tag Manager's script is a third-party script. This isn't exactly something the theme controls so it's out of our scope to be frank.
But to help you out, can you have it enabled again and let us check? So I can at least try to point you to want exactly is happening. Maybe it can help you figure things out with Google.
It is enabled now. Does the number you are seeing begin with 13 or 18?

I checked site on desktop and mobile and the Phone Number in the menu is the same as the one in the Call us Now hero - which starts with: 1300
Had a quick look at the Source and couldn't find any reference to the other number.
How very strange. This issue stinks of some kind of weird caching problem, but I have cleared caches many times.
I will keep investigating and if I find solution will post it here for anyone else who has the issue.

Finally found the problem.
By pure chance, someone from Google called about some Tag Manager issues we have been having.
When I explained this problem he immediately knew what the issue was (which is very unusual from the Google Support team).
At some stage in the past, someone in marketing had installed a 'Google forwarding number' in tag manager. This Tag tells the website to replace all of the 1300 numbers to an old obsolete phone number in the Google account somewhere.
I deleted the google forwarding number tag in tag manager and the issue was resolved.
