sub menu arrows in menu missing

All of a sudden the arrows in my primary menu are missing. Have tried deactiviating plugins, cache, I have the latest versions of GP and GP Premium. The span class is missing from the markup.

We haven't had this issue reported before.
Any chance you can disable all of your plugins and let us have a look?
Make sure to use the parent theme without any custom functions as well.

I can't since it's a live site. But I have done so both on the live site and on localhost.
Any chance you can duplicate the issue on a live staging server so we can go through some debugging tips?
I'm not seeing anything obvious that could've caused this error.
