Step by step creation of a simple header with blocks
1 reply · Started by Ralph on February 23, 2022
Using blocks to make a header would be very helpful. I want to try the Elements to do this, but getting started is confusing. Are there any step by step instructions, or better yet a video, to make a header. I need navigation, a centered logo and an call to action button.
Thanks
Hi Ralph,
With regards to the functionalities of Block Elements, here is a document you can refer to: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-overview/
Moreover, here is a link where you’ll find overviews for other elements: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/elements-overview/
We also have a YouTube channel with various instructional videos: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeneratePress/videos
As for various header example, here is a link you may refer to which includes steps on how to create a header with a centered logo: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-examples/#example-3
As for the CTA, you may also create a Block Element for this and hook it to your preferred location. You can try out various hooks relative to the header like menu_bar_items, after_navigation, after_primary_menu or whichever works. :)
Here is a sample thread you may refer to as well: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/adding-cta-button-to-mobile-sticky-menu/
Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any further inquiries! :)
