Hi, I love the vinyasa starter theme website but it can be improved for people like me that dont have any tech knowledge. I have the premium version and I am a Pilates teacher trying to figure my website. I will suggest a few things that might make the theme a little more easy to use. You guys are awesome!!!!
Please Please consider adding a cart, a page for products (solo instructors sale stuff and studios do too), privacy police at the bottom and terms of services as well. The theme feels incomplete without those things. Also consider updating the blog page having the posts displayed side by side instead of only crhonological order. We could also display latest classes instead of blog posts. Any chance for adding video to that theme? Thank you for listening! Edi

StaffCustomer SupportHi Edi,
Let’s handle one thing at a time.
Please Please consider adding a cart, a page for products (solo instructors sale stuff and studios do too)
You will need to set up a plugin like WooCommerce for something like this.
Then GP Premium has some WooCommerce-specific options:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/woocommerce-overview/A template like Vinyasa is built for general purposes and I would say that most people are actually not selling anything so we try keep things simple and the users can choose to add WooCommerce when needed.
We also have e-commerce specific sites with WooCommerce already activated as the main purpose of those sites are to sell things 🙂

Hi again Leo, I went ahead and changed themes. I now have the starter site theme SHOP. Could you please help understand this. I thought that if I started using an e-commerce website theme from the site library it would come with the woocommerce plugin in it. But what I see is that it didn’t come with it. Did I do anything wrong? Thank you! Edi

StaffCustomer SupportI thought that if I started using an e-commerce website theme from the site library it would come with the woocommerce plugin in it.
That is correct. Did you import both options and content?
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-site-library/#importing-a-siteJuly 21, 2022 at 3:02 pm #2290037Edi
Hi Leo, yes I did. I checked both boxes. Two of the plug-ins I already had. So it went ahead and imported only the ones I didn’t have yet which was the woocommerce, however it didn’t work I guess. On my older starter theme when I tried to download the woocommerce to my site it said it wasn’t compatible with my current version of WordPress. But I am completely updated with the latest version of wp. Not sure if it contribute to the problem 🤔. Thank you! Edi

StaffCustomer SupportThat sounds strange.
What happens if you just add the WooCommerce plugin from the Plugins section?

Hi Leo, which woocommerce pligin do you recommend? On my plugin area the one I think would be good is the one made by Automattic which says that it is incompatible with my wordpress version. All of the ones they make. My wp is up to date. The woocommerce paypal plus by inpsyde GmbH is one option available. Any other you recommend? Thank you!! Edi

Hi Edi,
Yes, WooCommerce is the one created by Automattic: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/
It should be compatible with the latest version of WP as well. May we know what’s the exact error/warning message? Maybe you can raise a topic here for assistance with its installation?: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/
For eCommerce plugin recommendations, here’s an article I found: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/best-wordpress-ecommerce-plugins-compared/
Though, we use WooCommerce on our eCommerce templates in our site libraries.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Fernando, I don’t see to have any errors. I imported the template again and the same thing happened. It says installing woocommerce. Then I receive a message that it is done successfully but it actully not. O also have been having problems updating the pages that I work on. The updating button keeps going on saying: updating and never finishes so my work is lost. Do you think I have to reinstall wp again? I hope not. Thank you so much for your help! Edi

Yes, this seems like a Server issue or a bad WP installation. Can you check you PHP memory limit in Tools > Site Health > Info > Server? A good value is 256M, but at least 128M should be good as well. Check if there are other issues in site health as well.
Kindly let us know.

I also can’t edit my footer with the theme. How weird. Thank you! Edi

I see. For reference, the current WP version available is 6.0.1 I would say updating to 5.9 is safest.
Can you try updating your WP version first? And we’ll check if you can install WooCommerce afterwards.
Let’s check the footer issue after updating.

Wow!! Why does it say that my wp is up to date on my dashboard? Do you have any idea? I got a good laugh now. Do you have any advice on how to do that safely? How do I know what version I will be updating it towards? Is it something I can find info on how to do online safely? Thanks a million!!! Edi
