Spacing between paragraphs - not consistent from google docs to wordpress
9 replies · Started by Lisa on January 30, 2022
When I write blog posts I use google docs and use H2, H3 etc so that when I upload to wordpress these are already formatted.
Overall this works great but I can't figure out how to make my spacing stay consistent.
For example, if I write a section with three paragraphs, separated by a space in google docs, it appears in wordpress as one long paragraph with no spaces.
The only way I can make the post look correct is to manually add spacers but this is really annoying.
Is there a setting I'm missing?
Hi Lisa,
Can you share a video of an occurrence of this issue? So we can see any specific steps that could be the culprit.
I've tested a sample of this and it worked fine on my end as shown here -

Thanks Elvin, here you go.
There should be spaces between the paragraphs - they are present in the google doc but not in the published post.
Any chance you can link us to the page in question?
I don't believe this is something the theme can control but can't be sure unless we can see the issue.
You can use the private information field:

Let me know :)
Thank you, please see below.
Hi there,
in Customizer > Typography --> Body what is the Bottom Margin set to?
ooooh, it is set to zero.
Since I'm using 30px spacer should I change this to 30?
Yeah that will work
Thank you so much!
This will make my workflow so much easier, and I think will fix some warnings I've been getting in SemRush.
Glad to be of help
