Space under header & no padding mobile
15 replies · Started by Ben on April 12, 2021
Hi there.
Almost got everything perfect after removing elementor (yay) but a couple of things I cant seem to figure out.
The first being the white space under the header bar and main image on the front page (link to front page in private)
And the second is getting mobile padding. I have made a "content page" element, and it is not "contained" but somehow the main padding in cutomizer (mobile) isnt working. (example page in private)
Any ideas?
Thanks so much in advance.
Hi there,
Let's handle one issue at a time.
For the first issue, there is an empty paragraph added there:

Does that help?
Hi Leo
Great, yes that worked I must have accidentally added that into my element (dummy).
Ideas for the mobile padding?
Hi Ben,
The first issue is coming from an empty paragraph block:
https://www.screencast.com/t/BhpzsdTEH
Just remove it, the issue should be gone.
For the second issue, this page is set to contained:

Could you double-check your settings?
Let me know :)
Hiya Ying.
Thanks, got the first one sorted.
Im not sure where else to look for it being contained, can you suggest?
The element im using is default, and each page setting is greyed out and default. (see screenshots)
Perhaps there is somewhere else?
There are two places where the contained container can be applied.
The first one is through the layout metabox:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-metabox-overview/#where-is-it
The second one is through a layout element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1
Thanks Leo
• Layout meta is completely greyed out, I cannot make a selection on it
• Layout element is set to default..
Thoughts?
Hi there,
can you provide us with temporary Admin login for the site so we can take a look?
Sure, have done.
Can you try temporarily disabling both of the Layout Elements. You can Quick Edit them both and change the status to draft. Then clear any caches. Let us know if that puts the content width back to default.
Doesnt seem to do much when i draft the element :/ Still no padding :(
Hi Ben,
The issue is coming from the layout element called footer.
You chose footer widgets in this layout element, but also set the content to contain, and it applies to the entire site (doesn't include static pages).

Choose default instead, clear your cache and check.
Let me know :)
Thank you Ying, thats for that, works a treat!
If I may tag on to this thread (sorry last thing and I will leave you all alone)
I have randomly a few pages where all fonts are going bold (everywhere on the site, ie, menu) but they display correctly when I am in the editor.
Its not all pages there are a few that arent effected.
Any thoughts on that?
Can you open a new topic for this?
I'll mark this one as resolved.
Thanks :)
Sure thing. Cheers
