[Support request] Social share buttons with good performance

Hi

I’m looking into adding social share buttons on my site, but I don’t want any unecessary plugins or code that drag down the performance.

Searching I found this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/gp-social-share-svg/ mentioned in and old post https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/social-share-buttons/. I see this plugin is no longer updated though and hence I guess it’s no longer a good way to do it?

Then I found this article, https://www.wplogout.com/create-social-sharing-buttons-in-generatepress-without-plugin/, which could be interesting. I’ve limited coding skills though, so I can’t just easily digest it. I understand the wplogout is not you, but if you or anyone here has tried it and is happy with the solution it’d be good to know.

Are there any other viable options that do not include slow plugins?

Hi Alexander,

If you have limited coding skills, I would recommend finding a plugin for that.

If you feel comfortable editing the code, then give the solution you mentioned a try 🙂 But please be noted, if any issue occurs, you would have to contact that author for a fix.

I understand. I will likely at least try the wplogout solution still, either by myself and/or with the help of a developer. I prioritize speed and performance over some easier or more user friendly way to get the social sharing button.
