Social Icons Block not working
9 replies · Started by JaviBe on March 9, 2021
Hello,
I am adding the social icons block to the footer template element. When adding it, there are three dots (blue, light blue and pink) that are supposed to be social media icons. However, I can't see where I can select the icons and add links to social media.
Any idea?
Thanks
Hi there,
can you share a link to a page where we can see the issue ?
Hi David,
The live site does not show the icons: https://snipboard.io/i7danG.jpg
These are the dots I mentioned while editing: https://snipboard.io/zDYpGl.jpg
These is the block options I see: https://snipboard.io/WTcjOG.jpg
I need to see the site in order to tell what the issue is - a screenshot alone doesn't help.
See private info with login details.
Can you disable clear and disable SG optimizer and any other caching plugins first?
The social icon blocks are from WordPress itself so the theme should not interfere.
Do you see the same issue when using a Twenty series default theme?
Hi Leo, I am afraid I have the same result.
Can you report that to WordPress support team?
Or you could consider just using the buttons block from GenerateBlocks which has some social icons built-in:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/buttons-overview/#icon
I am happy to report it, but never done it. Can you please send me a link with the info?
I will use the GenerateBlocks built-in social icons by now.
Here it is:

I'd assume they already know :)
GB is the better option anyways.
