Howdy!
Is anybody else having problems with smart slider 3 and GP premium 2.0.2? I had been running GP Premium 1.x and upgraded to 2.0.2 today. It was working this morning, and now the slideshow doesn't display.

Interestingly enough, the slideshow shows in the edit page, but when I view the live page: https://fm2.nearorbit.com/ the slider is missing.

Has anybody else run into this?

Thanks,
Bill

Shoot! I did it again. The firewall is blocking you. Give me a minute...

Hi Elvin,
I've disabled the firewall rules. Either I gotta figure out what IP addresses you guys are coming from, or I gotta remember to disable the firewall before I open a ticket.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks.

I've checked the site and there's actually an indication of smartslider within the page source but it goes empty where it counts.

Let's do a bit of debugging.

Can you try adding the smart slider outside of a Container Block and see if it works?

If it doesn't can you try disabling ALL plugins except GP Premium and try adding the smart slider outside of a Container Block and inside of a container block and see if any of them work?

Let us know.

Note: I'm not sure if this is relevant but there's a console error on your site - https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4uoN056
You may want to ask smart slider support about this as well. Perhaps this is a known bug on their side.

Hi Elvin,
Well that is really weird. It appears to be a conflict with "WooCommerce Blocks". But here's the weirder part: I can deactivate and uninstall "WooCommerce Blocks" and my WooCommerce blocks still work on the home page. I'm not sure if this plugin was superseded by something in WooCommerce itself, or what.

For the record: I added a slideshow outside of the container, neither showed. It wasn't until I disabled "WooCommerce Blocks" did both (inside and outside container) slideshows show up. Deleting "WooCommerce Blocks" as my products are still showing the way they're supposed to.

On a side note: I can't get rid of the space between the bottom of the header and the slideshow. There seems to be about 25px worth of space, that I can't find any place to change it. I get the same gap with a static image, so I don't believe it's the slideshow.

I found a

at the end of my Header Element Block.
I had a spurious "Type / to choose a block" at the bottom of my header. The block navigator didn't acknowledge that anything was there, but once I clicked onto that text and hit the backspace, it took care of the extra space below the header.

I realized my reply wasn't posted yesterday.

Yeah that's usually it.

It's quite common for Block editor users to leave empty paragraph blocks.

And these ones cause spaces because WordPress default since 5.7 adds p:empty:before margins.

Glad you found it.
