Slider in main page

Hello, I intend to create a slider on the main page of my site,
I have seen many options, but none resolves the need I am looking for.
What I need is to create in the header of my main page a slide bar that
shows the latest news of a particular category.

Hmm could be a tough one.
I would try using Tom's WP Show Posts plugin: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-show-posts/
Then find a good slider plugin that accepts shortcode generated from WP Show Posts.
