Jesper
Hi 🙂
My main menu all have links to pages on the toplevel, with childpages set beneath. I have set my primary navigation to ‘Navigation Dropdown: Click -arrow’.
On mobile the slideout menu does not reveal the submenu, instead it just link the entire li-block including the dropdown arrow to the parent page. What am I missing here?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Can you provide any screen recordings on what occurs on your end?
Here’s what I see on my end – https://share.getcloudapp.com/GGuW5yqR
I had to wait a significant amount of time for it to show though. Your site is showing 522 errors. Can you try disabling any CDN and see if it improves?

Hi Elvin 🙂
Wauw, that is so much not what I see – also where do you get 522 errors? There are none on my end on any device.
Heres what I see – notice that I get redirected on click on arrows. You may be clicking too fast for the page to redirect at all – https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuoWXL6

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
when i checked you site – the Primary Navigation Drop Down is activated on Hover. Can you make sure it is set to Click: Arrow and the customizer changes are published ?
If you’re using any cache plugins then temporarily disable them to make sure they are not loading older code.

Hi David 🙂
Yes, I changed it back to hover, as it had no impact on the slideout menu – We want hover on desktop primary menu, and the slideout should be click:arrow. I have set it for click:arrow now, but again – it should be hover on desktop.
I wiped cache several times to no avail.

StaffCustomer SupportI am seeing the Click on Menu Item setup – can you confirm its set to click arrow ?

It is set for ‘Click – Arrow’ in Customizing/Layout/Primary Navigation. So yes, same behaviour on desktop and off canvas panel now. Are there any generic classes overruled here?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Jesper,
You are having the cache plugin activated, so when the cache is not cleared, we can not see the changes.
Now I can see that it’s set to ‘Click – Arrow’, and it seems working fine and behave normally.
Please note one thing that when the parent menu item has a drop-down list, it’s better to use a custom link and set its link to
#
. Please refer to the screenshot below:

I dont know what to say – it is NOT working as intended and acts as ‘click on menu’ on both mobile and desktop. I want hover on desktop and click – arrow on mobile off canvas panel. The # trick with custom links is a workaround, not solution. Cache is cleared.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you please deactivate (not just clear) any caching plugins including Autopimize for now?
https://www.screencast.com/t/LJxZwCudmThanks!

Just did – same result. I will reactivate caching within a few hours… I already went through the checklist you posted here, just in case you were wondering why I opened a support ticket :/

StaffCustomer SupportDid you switch back to hover again?
We would reallly need to see the issue with click-arrow as the option with Autopimize disabled.
If this is a live site with traffic, can you start a staging site to give us enough time to debug?
THanks!
