Slide Out Menu Customisation

Hi Tom, I've just stumbled on a theme called Tography and absolutely love the customisation in the slide out menu.
How tricky is this to do? Specifically the bit above the menu items with info pulled from the about page (images from About page, hover over link text, social icons).

It would mean you have to add the HTML yourself, but you could get that same look :)
I decided on one page in the end which negated this idea but have bookmarked your response as I think I'll have a bash on another site. Thanks Tom!
