hi there,
is it possible to have a menu item – and when you click on it a slide out bar comes up with a list entry or similar?
What i mean:
menu item “shop” – when you click on it a bar with a list of products comes up on the side. The items on the list should either be words only (for things only available via contact) or links to items in a woocommerce shop. Also a contact link should be on that.Looking something like on this site – when you click on the menu item “Blöcke” (most right). As you can see this is no link (hovering over the menu item shows https://gutenberg-editor.de/#) – but only opens up the sidebar.
And instead of Blöcke (its a german side describing gutenberg blocks – in case you wonder) i want shop – and instead of the blocks i want text only or links. Is this possible with gp?

try the Off Canvas Panel:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/off-canvas-panel-overview/
It can contain its own navigation menu and has its own widget area
May 10, 2020 at 1:07 am #1277506Matthiasthx. I already have the off-canvas-panel set for mobile navigation (fullscreen).
Is there a way to duplicate it for a shop list?In general: is it possible to use a “page” rather then a menu for the panel – e.g. to have a slide-out contact form?

Haven’t tested but seen this plugin recently:
May 10, 2020 at 11:29 am #1278185Matthiasthx for the suggestion. The plugin looks good- but:
The plugin page mentions that it does not work with all themes and you should check some stuff beforehand. It is described here:
https://github.com/JoryHogeveen/off-canvas-sidebars/wiki/Theme-setupYou may know if gp supports these settings by having a quick look i guess.
Also gp is mentioned in the list “with currently known compatible theme hooks”
https://github.com/JoryHogeveen/off-canvas-sidebars/wiki/Compatible-theme-hooksIs this a go or a no? 😛 – as you say you have seen this plugin: you have seen gp users using it? Or you just saw it somewhere? 😉

This setup should work with GP: https://github.com/JoryHogeveen/off-canvas-sidebars/wiki/Theme-setup#basic-theme-setup
May 11, 2020 at 3:38 am #1278789MatthiasThx guys.
You just have to change the default settings to those mentioned in the link – and it works.
Nice plugin for a nice theme.
